All hirers will have a hard copy of this page to sign and keep at the time of hire.
There will be one copy each for the hirer and one for Kayaks2Hire.
Hire agreement and Terms & Conditions
1) Kayaks2Hire will only release equipment for hire upon full and signed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2) All hire periods shall be paid for in full before hire period begins.
3) Hire prices are as at the time of hiring, and on our website www.kayaks2hire.co.uk
4) Payment will be made by cash.
5) Payments by cheque need to be cleared before release of equipment, and so need to arrive with us at least 4 working days before intended hire period.
6) All equipment hired shall be returned in the condition it was released in.
7) Before equipment is released, debit/credit card details will be taken as a deposit, so that any equipment returned damaged, or not returned at all can be replaced, as described on our website www.kayaks2hire.co.uk
8) After all equipment is returned in good condition, card details of hirers will be shredded immediately, so as to protect the customers interests.
9) Hiring people will be given the best local knowledge as to where to enter and exit local waters.
10) Once the hiring people have left our premises, or if taken to the water our presence, then it is the sole responsibility of the hiring people to act in a manner which is safe both for themselves, and anyone else in their vicinity, i.e. other river users, walkers, fishermen, etc.
11) On the reverse are our current hire prices, along with the items hired for the current hire period circled.
12) Also overleaf is space for the hirer to put debit/credit card details which form the deposit for the hire of equipment.
13) One copy each of this document will be held by the hirer and Kayaks 2 Hire until the end of the hire period and the return of all hired equipment.
14) Whilst these terms and conditions may seem a little stern, they are set out for the benefit of everyone. We are in business to provide people with a way to enjoy the waterways in the way we do. We want only to provide this, along with people having the peace of mind that we are acting in their, and everyone’s interests, so that they will go away afterwards and tell their friends of the enjoyment they’ve had, along with a good service, so that even more people may also enjoy it too. The waterways of Somerset offer some of the best scenery anywhere, along with the tranquillity of slow moving waters, so we look forward to you having a very enjoyable experience with us.
15) Please leave the countryside in the condition you found it. Leave no litter, disturb no wildlife or animals, close any gates, and have a great time!
16) All kayaks hired will have with them one paddle, one buoyancy aid and one seat per person. (That’s one paddle, one buoyancy aid and one seat for a single kayak. Two paddles, two buoyancy aids and two seats for a double kayak).
17) If you don't have suitable transport, and need taking to, and collecting from a local launching or landing spot, we will do this. Our charge for this is 50p per mile each way, per trip. The distance is measured from our base to the site of launch or landing, which could obviously be different places.
